...and not lightly. This oath we will keep. We are threatened with many evils, and treason not least. But one thing is not said: That we shall suffer from cowardice, from cravens or the fear of cravens. Therefore I say that we shall go on and this doom I add; the deeds that we shall do shall be the matter of song until the last days of Arda!"
- Feanor, The Silmarillion
Yggdrasil Family
Once merely named "The Jotunn Family", the Yggdrasil are a proud, dignified family that has been around since only time could remember. Those in the Yggdrasil Family descend directly from Ansemund the Absolute and thus possess his power. In the past when the family was not named Yggdrasil, they were the imperial family of the Jotunn Empire with Agmund the Phantom Emperor as its leader. After the fall of the Jotunn Empire, Osmund the High King the took reign of the family with his children to name themselves the Yggdrasil Family. Today, the family is led by Aegon the Conqueror, son of Osmund, after his father's death and continues to maintain the strength of the family.
The Yggdrasil Family are sworn to protect the Nine Worlds from doom and work to keep Ragnarok at bay.
Their words are "Arise in Might."

Lyanna was born alongside her twin brother, Aegon, as the daughter of Frigga and Osmund. A beautiful young girl, she possesses her father's ocean blue hair and free-spirit nature. From her mother's side, she held her steely cold blue eyes and fair skin, inheriting her mother's ironed diligence and fortitude. As a child, she admired her older brother, Baldr, and took it upon herself to learn everything should come from him. Like her father, she has a keen perception and knack for being able to carefully study another person's fighting style and adopt it into her own style. Due to this close resemblance, Osmund often spoiled her as a child and even gave her his precious sword, Lobera, at the mere age of 6 - a gift that drew the ire of his other children and the amusement of Frigga as Lyanna teased her brothers. Little did she know that at such a young age, she would have to wield that sword in combat for the wars to come. Her mother was slain at the hands of Ancelot, a man she knew held evil within his heart the moment she lay her winter eyes on him. Instead of weeping, sorrow turned to rage and rage turned to resolve when she took up her mother's beloved armor, the Veleda (Warband Queen), and went to war alongside her father and three brothers: Baldr, Aegon, and Jaeherys. While not participating in many battles, like Aegon and Jaeherys, she made a name for herself in the battlefield with Lobera by utilizing an even greater level of speed than her father through the use of her blade. She would charge into shield-walls while riding her unicorn, Idisi, and throw herself into a mound only to appear as twenty flashes atop corpses. In her most dangerous battle, she met Hrungnir, one of the original wolf-skins of her father's old days, in the battlefield and challenged him alongside her Aegon and Jaeherys. All three fought fiercely against the Jotunn Titan until finally Lyanna managed to cut his left eye and slice off his horn with Lobera in the same swing, granting it its prized title "Might of the Wolf-Slayer." Aegon and Jaeherys nearly lay the killing blow on a stunned Hrungnir, but he managed to recover and return to the flank of his army.
After the events of the war, she stuck with her father while her brothers found their own adventures and purpose. When Osmund returned to the Aether Realm to visit Vehuiah Seraphim, she trained there while her father interpreted the runes. She followed her father to Jotunnheim as well to see the effects of the war upon the population and found only sorrow in a ravaged land and starving people. When her brothers returned to Osmund's side, she decided to remain in Jotunnheim in order to aid the innocent Jotnar. There she remains to this day. Rumor has it that she leads a band of rogue valkyries and jotnar in Úlfsjár (wolf lake) at the heart of Jotunnheim called the Warband, waging guerrilla warfare with Aldegund's new Jotunn Empire.

Born the unknown son of Jaeherys and mother unknown, Erik was cast out at an early age as a result of his mother's’ scorn for his father. Leaving him to fend for himself, he was unable to perceive the world and the emotions of those around him, putting him on a path toward being a gruesome, heartless warrior. Slaughtering many of the innocence of Midgard, Erik became a criminal and was treated like one, however no one shackle could chain the young Erik, as each attempt at imprisoning him only had increased his kill-count. Soon, he became tired without having competition, and as a result wandered the Nine Worlds in search of people, or beasts, that would truly test his steel. It was on this journey where he discovered Hati and Skoll, the brother-wolves. He challenged them to fight unknowing of their strength, and as a result was struck down and mortally wounded. Seeing his courage and the strange humanity within his heart, the wolves took the child in as a resemblance of his strength. They taught him things that his father should have - how to hunt, defend and carry himself. Only now was it that Erik had learned to humble himself, and he put his past life behind him, opting on becoming a hunter. Disguised under a different identity, he set his world on game across the entirety of the Nine Worlds. Slaying the Jotunn known as Frey in Jotunheimr, to dragons within Muspelheim, and even harpies of Vanaheim. There was one night that would prove to change his life forever and help him discover his true identity, and it was during a total eclipse where the roar of battle echoed throughout the entirety of the worlds. Erik was hunting on the branches of the Yggdrasil, more specifically in Iðavöllr, hunting the four deer that were nibbling on the roots. When, by some roll of the dice, he lost his footing, he plunged in a fall to the death; with the summit being the bank of the Well of Urd. When he fell, his life was cushioned by a mysterious man clad in silver armor. This man was known as Edmund, and explained to him his true lineage as the son of Jaeherys as an Yggdrasil. Though finding his father at this point was a necessity - survival was moreso. So, while seeking his fate he also hunted game across the Worlds, but he noticed that all of his shots would go north with his bow. Erik, being the reckless fool he was, followed this as a sign of fate, and once reaching the Northernmost point of the world, he encountered Jaeherys training with Ancelot in Calluna, a marsh that also served as a prison for the dread wolf. Unwilling to admit his child in front of Ancelot, he was cast away once more, at which he returned to the Well of Urd in order to seek Edmund’s advice. He meditated upon the water, looking deeply in within due to the strange absence of Edmund. What he saw however, was not a reflection of his fate, but a reflection of Fenrir's head just behind him with his massive, slitted eyes and a bestial grin. Turning around in shock, what took the visage of the dread wolf was only his father Jaeherys who—lacking any empathy or feeling, placed him under a comatose spell. When he awoke, he was resting upon a bed with royal lining and embroidery, a variety of people awaiting his awakening surrounding the bed—none of them Ancelot. His father, who reached out his hand and lifted the young boy up and uttered the words: “You are home now, as am I.” almost indifferently. He brought himself to his knees and admired the people surrounding him, each with shining silver armor. It was here, where his story as a Saga of Silver began.

Osmund
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/3/1/19316073/editor/osmund-9_1.jpg?1506892937)
He was the eldest of the Yggdrasil Family and he possessed the memories of an age when there was still chaos in the cosmos and Yggdrasil itself was still stabilizing the worlds. He was the third reincarnation of Asier and was once the strongest living Titan in the universe. He possessed a power to even subjugate Eternals themselves should he wish to, being trained and raised by Adonai Messiah himself and as a close partner to Phanes Acmon. During his time as Wulfric the Warrior, he roamed the worlds with his Wolf Pack until encountering Agmund, who recruited them to create the Jotunn Empire. In the Jotunn Empire, he was the Crown Prince and was married to Queen Frigga, although Agmund retained leadership as the official king. He fathered Baldr, Aegon, Lyanna, Wulfric II, and Arthurius with her until her death. at the hands of Ancelot. Ancelot overpowered both him and Edward, who were sworn to defend her and this lead to her death. During the Civil War, he fought with the Chaos Jotunn and was always at the head of the fight in his grief at the loss of his wife. When he saw that the war would only end in calamity for the worlds, he sought the nearly extinct gods to aid him in protecting the worlds and their people, as well as putting an end to the war. The Aesir and Vanir god clans, led by Odin and Freyja, rallied their armies of Valhalla and Folkvandr to the battlefield. There they fought the fractured and worn Jotunn Empire factions, who could not unite in time to properly deal with the gods. Even so, the Jotunn killed almost all the gods, save for Freyja, Vidar, and Skadi. Before his final breath, Odin fractured Agmund's soul from his body with Gungnir, defeating him. The Allfather passed on his legendary spear, Gungnir, to Wulfric and thus the key to Valhalla. Wulfric prepared his ultimate technique, casting the Super Cell upon Midgard to seal the Jotunn; a technique that summons the Storm Cells of the North, South, East, and Western regions of the Nine Worlds, multiplying their power. It binds the space and time of those within the Super Cell, trapping all within in an eternal storm of raining lightning, fire, and hail. Although he managed to escape the technique with his children, he could not save his demoralized son, Baldr, from escaping the technique, something that still haunts him today. His last words to the Jotunn were, "If you wish to escape, escape together." In his hopes that they would unite together in peace to overcome the seal, for the Super Cell was too strong even for Osmund to dispel. Only the world of Arda remains within the eye of the storm, although the affects of the war remain on its earth. Jotunn still exist in the worlds today, although these were the peaceful ones who did not fight in the war and through the generations, their blood has mixed with mortals and gods alike. Only Osmund and his children remained pure-blooded.
After the war, Wulfric I transformed into Osmund after having sealed Fenrir into his body. He went on to roam the Nine Worlds with his children for a time and allowed them to experience their journeys during that time. He returned to Midgard to see what had become of it, only to see that the world that remained, Arda, had fallen to strife as factions fought for power and influence. There he trained Ryuu, who possessed a strong amount of Jotunn blood within his family. He found a young Ryuu in a forest, bloodied and covered in burns. His clan was targeted by the infamous Daybreak for its strong Jotunn blood and their potential power, Ryuu being the only one to survive the slaughter. From here, Osmund fought to preserve peace and help the mortals unite under that banner of peace. He assembled his family and created the Yggdrasil Family as a means to aid in this endeavor. Osmund achieved relative peace during his time in Arda, but he has since let go of the reigns to allow others to ensure that peace. Now that Osmund is in his old age, his son, Aegon, leads the Yggdrasil Family in his stead. He returned to Asgard in the hopes of restoring the Aesir and Vanir clans alongside Freyja, reigning over Valhalla and the Einherjar in preparation for Ragnarok.
Death:
With the encroaching power of the newly formed Jotunn Empire under the leadership of Aldegund, Osmund sharpened his attacks on the villainous empire to preserve peace in the Nine Worlds. His Wild Hunt would be tasked with defeating powerful Jotunn wherever they appeared in the cosmos and would strike at enemy bases for intelligence or the re-acquisition of treasures. In response, Aldegund too hastened his ambitions and reclaimed much of Jotunnheim with his Warlords. Instead of immediately launching a full-scale assault on Midgard from Jotunnheim, Aldegund decided to firmly establish his sovereignty over all the Nether Realms. Thus, he besieged Nidavellir with his half of his forces for 10 days. Osmund personally went into the battlefield alongside Grimnir to defeat the opposing Jotunn Army.
For a month, they endured harsh battles against the toughest foes of the Jotunn Empire, including from the Eóten of Nastrond, Agnar's legions, several Warlords, and Gibborim and Nidhogg. Finally, Aldegund showed himself on the battlefield with his full might alongside all nine Warlords. In a final stand, Osmund battled them all with Brynhilde, Fenrir, Vehuiah Seraphim, Róta, and Skögul at his wings wielding the Sword of Ansemund, Abendrot. In a destructive battle that razed much of Jotunnheim and Svartalfheim, Aldegund was defeated by Osmund and so too were the Warlords. Alas, Osmund succumbed to his wounds from the battle and took nine steps north before dying, being carried to Valhalla by his beloved Frigga, where he awaits the final battle. His body was rested on a ship and burned in Asgard's seas.

Agmund
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/3/1/19316073/published/agmund-20.jpg?1499546844)
Having died as Athanasius the Great Death, he was resurrected by Ouranos to become Agmund the Phantom Emperor , also known as Ragnarok. He worked alone and would go on to kill Ignatius and Syntyche, but finally stumbled across Frigga. She was one of the few who could resist his presence of fear and despair, manifesting his intrigue. Agmund went on to assemble the Jotunn Empire with the help of Frigga and Ymir, gathering powerful Jotunn who would help expand the reach. In this he recruited Wulfric the Warrior, his sworn nemesis, because of his ambition. Agmund's goal with the empire was to bring order and justice to the Nine Worlds using power, which would then breed peace and prosperity for all who lived. When Ancelot betrayed the empire and took the Spirit Jotunn with him, he gathered the Chaos Jotunn and lead them to war to unite the empire once more. His strength was immeasurable and he remains undefeated in battle. Despite having been in possession of the Gjallarhorn of Phanes Acmon, he never used it. The war was even more devastating than the First Ragnarok as it led to the deaths of countless non-combatants and civilians. It would have led to the extinction of mortals and gods had the gods not rallied alongside Wulfric to seal away the Jotunn using the Super Cell. The powers of the Jotunn race were too great to be allowed to rule a world where war and power dominated the scene, or so thought Wulfric. Agmund and Ancelot were the strongest of all the Jotunn and Titans, changing the very landscape of the Nine Worlds and reducing Svartalfheim, Jotunnheim, and Midgard to ruins. Jotunnheim became a cold blizzard with constant continental quakes, Svartalfheim's surface became a landscape of meteor showers, wildfires, and nuclear storms, and Midgard's surface was trapped in a constant storm of wind and lightning. Among all the Nine Worlds, floating islands now exist deep in the skies in part due to magicians attempting to escape the chaos and because of the distortion of gravity caused by the war.
Agmund's body and soul were separated from each other. His body was sealed within the largest and brightest star in the universe, Madrugada, near Alfheim. Madrugada soon went dark and lost its light because of his presence. His soul became his 5 Fylgja, which roam the worlds to this day in the shadows. Unlike other Titans, he was not reborn with the soul of one of the old Titans sealed in the First Ragnarok because Ouranos found it was not needed due to the immense power Agmund already possessed.

Ancelot
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/3/1/19316073/published/loki.jpg?1499716003)
Ancelot, also known as Loki, was reborn from Syntyche after her death to Agmund. Upon rebirth by Ouranos, Syntyche became Ancelot, a male version of her former self. Ancelot craved knowledge and the wisdom of the universe, seeking those immortals who would help him achieve this. He went on to lead a group of vampires who would subjugate gods for their knowledge until coming across a pack of wolves; Wulfric the Warrior, Ymir the Unbroken, Surtr the Furious, and Hrungnir the Necromancer. They managed to defeat Ancelot and imprisoned him for his slaughter and genocide in pursuit of his goal. Agmund the Phantom then recruited the four wolves and brought Ancelot into his Jotunn Empire. From there, he aided the empire with his vast knowledge and power, using the empire as simply a means for his goal. When he saw the empire slowing down due to peace, he instigated a civil war by killing Frigga (who was adored and admired by the empire), blaming the death upon Wulfric and Edward who were her guards (sworn brother of Wulfric and one of the strongest in the empire), bringing to light many faults within the empire, and splitting the empire in two by creating the Spirit Jotunn Empire (Life Jotunn, Wind Jotunn, Earth Jotunn, and Water Jotunn). These Jotnar followed him out of the empire and into a new nation, bringing the civil war against the Chaos Jotunn (Death Jotunn, Lightning Jotunn, Fire Jotunn, and Frost Jotunn) led by Agmund. In any battle he personally fought in, victory was assured. He flew into the battlefield with the Gjallarhorn of Maka Gaia, responsible for the seismic tremors that now exist in Jotunnheim. Despite many victories and even nearly defeating Agmund, he was defeated by Agmund in the final battle before being sealed along with the rest of the Jotunn by Wulfric's Super Cell.
His spirit is that of the Titan Loki, having been reborn with the soul when he was resurrected by Ouranos.

Ymir
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/3/1/19316073/published/water.jpg?1499546446)
Ymir was born from Syntyche and was fully aware of having been born with the soul of the Titan Ymir. Although he was sometimes known as Cloud, he called himself Ymir because it was the identity he loved about himself. He encountered Wulfric and Surtr through Hrungnir, his sworn brother, joining their wolf pack out of intrigue and comradery. He guided the pack to Ancelot, having sensed his mother's power through him and defeated Ancelot. He was the one who created and granted the King Jotunn Soul to Agmund so he could properly lead the empire and he was the one who created the race of Jotunn with his power. Having grown close to Ancelot, he followed Ancelot out of the empire and into civil war. He created another King Jotunn Soul for the Spirit Jotunn and gave it to Ancelot as a sign of his sovereignty. He went on to prove his dominance in battle with his powers over frost and water, fighting numerous battles with Surtr that would end in draws. Ymir walked into the battlefield with the Gjallarhorn of Adamas Thanatos, defeating enemies in single strokes. He killed Surtr's son, Gibborim, in battle which drawed the wrath of Surtr. This fury led to Surtr's death as he threw himself into Ymir's legions, going on to die of his wounds, but not before crippling Ymir's armies. Ymir would then be sealed within Wulfric's Super Cell, where he awaits the death of Osmund as it is only Osmund's death that would break the Super Cell.
Surtr
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/3/1/19316073/7316514.jpg)
The brother of Wulfric I, he was the Captain Commander of the Jotunn Army during its time. He was born with the soul of Surtr within him after Wulfric saved him from death in their encounter by giving him his energy. Unlike any other Yggdrasil, he relied on elemental forces and close quarters combat during fights and displayed the greatest amount of power ever seen. He wielded the Gjallarhorn of Aion Chronos and Moirai Ananke to enhance his power and defense. His iron demeanor at par with his brute strength made him a force of will and inspiration to those under his command. During the final battle of the Jotunn Civil War, he was the only one to take the charge in combating an entire legion. Taking on captains, commanders, generals, and soldiers alike; defeating every single one of them. He died of his wounds because he did not wish them to be healed, but relished the idea of dying in combat and to protect those that stood behind him. Among the Saga of Gold, he was the very patriot that defined it.
Before his soul could ascend to Valhalla, Ouranos took his soul and resurrected him. He remains in Muspellheim as Surtr, longing for the empire to restore itself.

Frigga
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/3/1/19316073/published/frigga.jpeg?1499544912)
Queen of the Jotunn Empire and one of the strongest in the family to have lived. She is responsible for the vast expansion of the Jotunn Empire, including the many alliances between the races of elves, dwarves, fairies, and dragons. She was the first Jotunn to ever use the opposite elements and the first to ever be able to use the element of Twilight, besides Wulfric the Warrior who only managed to discover it. This granted her the Gjallarhorn of Praxia Hesporos, an Eternal who scarcely gives her power to anyone. She was the mother to Baldr, Aegon, Lyanna, and Arthurius as well as the wife of Osmund when he was Wulfric I. She was the only one who managed to humanize Agmund, who saw her as a sister. She would come to die at the hands of Ancelot in his pursuit of war. She fought valiantly, managing to heal both Edward and Wulfric I from near death until dying before she could summon Praxia Hesporos to alter the battle. Her death signaled the beginning of the Jotunn Civil War, the dehumanization of Agmund, and the end of an era of Jotunn sovereignty in the Nine Worlds.
Her spirit now resides in Valhalla as the highest Valkyrie, who will eventually carry Osmund's soul up to Valhalla upon his death.

Hrungnir
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/3/1/19316073/published/aldegund.jpg?1499545587)
He was born from the Saga of Silver, being the son of Ancelot and the brother of Ymir. Before that, he was the sworn blood brother of Wulfric, Surtr, and Ymir in a gang of werewolves until being recruited by Agmund to create the Jotunn Empire. When the civil war began, he chose to stay with his family and fight in the war despite his affinity for the Chaos Elements and unorthodox use of the Spirit Elements. He was one of the few to ever be able to resurrect the dead and also bring to life inorganic materials, a power he called Magitek. Along with this power, he held mastery over the Gjallarhorn of Erebus Mephistopheles, utilizing the Nether Energy to enhance his constructs.
He was one of the few Jotunn to survive the war, but was trapped within Wulfric's Super Cell and remains trapped to this day.

Fenris
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/3/1/19316073/published/fenrir-5.jpg?1508702762)
Once simply known as Blood, he arose to the family name during the Jotunn Civil War as the son of Ancelot, following Ancelot when he took the Spirit Jotunn to his side. He proved to be a formidable foe throughout the war and simply sought to reunite the cracked empire. He fought with the Gjallarhorn of Exousia Nyx, emptying the battlefields in single blasts. His dedication to this was so great that as he was dying in his battle with Wulfric, he refused to die and his words were met by Ouranos. Ouranos transferred the sealed spirit of Fenrir into Blood and he became Fenrir. Wulfric ultimately defeated him in that long-fought battle that lasted a week and sealed Fenrir into his body, causing Wulfric's body to burn and begin his year-long transformation into Osmund. His spirit continues to reside within Fenrir as a clear conscious and as a set of eyes for his father outside the Super Cell.
Balderich
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/3/1/19316073/published/aquarius.jpeg?1499545247)
The eldest son of Wulfric I (Osmund) and Frigga, he carried with him the greatest level of energy that any Yggdrasil member ever had and seemingly ever will have. As a child, he mastered the Gjallarhorn of Adonai Messiah like his father and carried a perfect Al-Vaepni. In his teenage years, he was already on track to surpassing both his mother and father. Then the war began with his mother's death and his pure heart slowly became cruel. He was a fierce loyalist to the Chaos Jotunn and a patriot to the empire. He proved to be a valuable asset in the war and was only at the young age of 13. He would fight alongside another child prodigy, Thor, the son of Surtr, and together were nearly unstoppable. He was sealed along with the majority of the Jotunn within the Super Cell cast by his father, having been demoralized and in shock at the witness of Thor's death at the hands of Ymir. He could not and did not want to escape, remaining trapped within the Super Cell to this day.
Gibborim
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/3/1/19316073/published/warlord-3.png?1499545102)
The only son of Surtr and Rinda, he too was a child prodigy like his sworn brother, Baldr, was. While Baldr was fast and agile, Thor was a juggernaut and wielded mighty strength that rivaled even those of the Saga of Obsidian. He was Surtr's pride and surpassed the expectations of his father and those around him. At the age of 13, he was already commanding his own armies for the Chaos Jotunn with Baldr by his side. While Baldr held Adonai Messiah, Thor held the Gjallarhorn of Aion Chronos like his father to become nearly indestructible. In the final battle, he died at the hands of Ymir, whose power was the only one able to cripple his defenses. Like his father's soul, Ouranos took it and resurrected it into the Titan, Gibborim, casting aside his former name of Thor.
