The Sagna
The Three Sagas are the denomination branches descending from Ansemund, the Primordial Guardian of Yggdrasil. At first, there were no classifications for these sagas. As time passed, their distinctions became clear as each one gained new members among their rank and their different creeds and abilities became clear. Today, the majority of the descendants of Ansemund, known as Sagna (meaning "the bleeding epic" in Old Maian), are united within the Yggdrasil Family.
The history of the Sagna is one truly written in blood. Their actions have greatly influenced every age since their birth and their battles have usually ended the age. All of the Sagna fall into one of the three sagas due to the nature of their souls. The Will of Ansemund bids them to make a choice as to what aspect of Ansemund they most believe in: his power, his courage, or his wisdom.

Yggdrasil - The World Tree
It has gone by many names throughout its existence; the World Tree, Tree of Life, Ash Tree, Tree of Immortality, and Tree of the Divine Realm to name a few. To the Sagna, it is simply known as Yggdrasil. Yggdrasil is a cosmic tree that connects and cradles all of existence throughout the cosmos. Every force, every energy, every element, and every life is connected to Yggdrasil and the tree's branches are always there. However, its true splendor only exists within a secret realm known as Urdarbrunn, the Well of Urd. It is a place with no land, but shimmering water at one's feet. The horizon is a haze of white, but the sky directly above is in constant night spangled with stars and distant worlds. At the center of this realm is Yggdrasil, a great tree of white bark and cerulean leaves from which its sparkling dew falls like rain onto the pools below. In Urdarbrunn, there are many sacred animals from wolves, to eagles, elks, and bears, who live in harmony. It is lonely now without its Primordial Guardian. However, it was no more lonely than it was when it was born.
Long before there were stars, worlds, planets, or moons, there was only darkness. Deep within that darkness, there was a swirling chaos of mists and fog, freezing cold, howling winds, and terrifying fire. There were no suns, no moons, no stars, no land, nor sea. There was only a great, yawning void called Ginnungagap ("the yawning void," "the pit," magically charged void,"). Ginnungagap was a chaos of malevolent forces begging for existence, but eradicating themselves indiscriminately. But as unknown ages passed, even indiscriminate chaos can come to create order. Thus, from that chaos, the first two powerful forces came to be. These two forces, cold and heat, would come to be the very basis of which all energies would take shape as Nether and Aether. The two forces reacted with one another and expanded, and two Worlds came to be; Niflheim, land of cold mists and Muspellheim, the land of fire. From Niflheim’s spring, Hvergelmir, flowed the 11 poisonous rivers of the Elivagar. They emptied into Ginnungagap, froze, and filled it with venomous ice. From Muspellheim came sheets of fire that turned the ice into mists and dense fog. These two worlds flowed freely within the Ginnungagap, interacting with each other in ceaseless darkness, both fire and ice coexisting with each other until at last there came the sparks of life.
The fiery Aether of Muspellheim mixed with the icy Nether of Niflheim to create Ether, the pinnacle of all energies that connected all dimensions and gave birth to Well of Urd; a sheet of pure, reflecting water across an expanse from which all fates became connected. It gave rise to the World Tree, Yggdrasil. Its mighty branches connected the two worlds and established order within the dark chaos.
...But the state of order was short-lived as the Titans, beings of vast power formed from the abyss of Ginnungagap, and the Eoten, weaker versions of the Titans, rose from the abyss and attempted to raze Yggdrasil. In that moment, the Norns, three Völuspá (a Seeress), living within Urd's Well began to spin the threads of fate throughout the universe. Yggdrasil used Ether and its existential energy to bind the threads of fate into one being: Ansemund. Ansemund, risen from the powers of Ether and the magic of Ginnungagap, rose as the mightiest Titan in existence in order to protect Yggdrasil and the two worlds. He waged war against all the Titans and sealed them away to the deepest corners of the universe. Thus, true peace was achieved and Ansemund became the sentinel of the cosmos.

Ansemund - The Primordial Guardian of Yggdrasil
Ansemund was the primordial guardian created by the World Tree, Yggdrasil, in order to protect it and its worlds. He was responsible for the creation of the seven worlds after Muspellheim and Niflheim, the creation of the Eternals, and the establishment of the primordial laws that govern the Nine Worlds. He was known as the First Allfather due to his rule being in Valhalla. As the Allfather, he created the valkyries, female warriors who were responsible for guiding the heroic and honorable dead to Valhalla and training them for Ragnarok. Ansemund knew there would come a time when the forces of Ginnungagap would strike more powerfully than they ever had and he made it his duty to prepare all of existence for such a day.
Ansemund's downfall would come from curiosity. He was wise and powerful to all of existence, but there was more to the cosmos than that which Yggdrasil or he had come to create. There in Ginnungagap was a force that Ansemund could not understand: non-existence. There in Ginnungagap was a will that created the Titans. It spoke in hushed whispers and tempted darkness to madness. Ansemund would name this will "Abraxas" and its name would come to be known only to the Eternals at the time. This enticing will would come to tempt even Ansemund for wisdom over its ancient secrets. Thus, on one fateful day, Ansemund would walk out of Yggdrasil and fall into Ginnungagap.
Ansemund's fell into the darkness of Ginnungagap and saw the birth of the cosmos itself. He saw the swirling mists and the raging fires - the birth of Yggdrasil. As he fell deeper, he saw further beyond even that. There was nothing. There was no heat, no motion, no cold, no light, no sound. It no longer felt as if he were falling. What was felt was a suffocation...and a fear that was primal. Everything that existed deep within that gaping abyss was inside of him and inside of him was the overpowering sense of danger and dread. A normal man would have fallen into insanity instantly, but it took far longer for Ansemund and insanity he did succumb to. He was within the very heart of darkness and could not escape. And there it was that he finally felt the presence of the oldest evil in the universe. There he felt the presence of Abraxas beginning to take hold of him and he could not fight back.
Finally, he could no longer bear the crushing pressure. His body illuminated the abyss of all-sorrow with a piercing light and he saw that will which tempted him. There was only an eye more massive than any star and Its many hands stretching further than the expanse of darkness before him. He was in its clutches. Ansemund was crushed in Its grasp and the power of the explosion was enough to free himself from Abraxas' grasp. When the raging fires of energy died, Ansemund was gone. There were only two new beings in his place, both shining in white armor and unconscious, blasting away from each other. One rocketed up back to Yggdrasil and the other into the silent embrace of Abraxas. This would end the First Age and begin the Saga of Titans.
Ansemund's legacy would be consequential throughout the Nine Worlds. The empty throne would lead to the War of the Eternals and the First Ragnarok. His descendants, the sagna, would fight numerous battles with and against every entity and race in existence. Many cultures would go on to forget the name of Ansemund, but recall the vague mention of a Bright Lord who illuminated the darkness with beauty, order, and light.
