"Why bow for those who in past times shown you relentless barbarism and impunity? Why make allies of circumstance when they will soon prove their fiendish nature to you? O' Warrior of Light and Dark, steeped in moonlit scent and bathed in starlight glow, take my power. You will find no need to make allies of heathens, they will kneel to you and never bear treachery to you; for they will serve you reverently for eternity."
-Erebus Mephistopheles
Erebus Mephistopheles
He Who Lifted the Veil
Erebus Mephistopheles
Guardian of Helheim
King of Nether
Concept: Damnation
Embodiment: Nether
Weapon: Long-sword
Erebus Mephistopheles, whose name means "Scatterer of Light" or "Deep Darkness," was created alongside Adonai Messiah from the darkness that followed after Ansemund shrunk Madrugada to form Adonai Messiah. Ansemund formed him from the material of Nastrond, the deepest and darkest point of the Nine Worlds. Erebus Mephistopheles came to represent the concept of a contract, making him very close allies with Moirai Ananke who represents fate. There is no hope when he has cast you to damnation and seals you within his grasp. The dead forever serve him and those who raise the dead are forever cast to damnation as his servant.
Summoning the Gjallarhorn of Erebus Mephistopheles shrouds the summoner in darkness, a deep shadow extending outward in all directions. Blue and purple vapor rise from the veil of darkness on the ground, coiling and attracting towards the mass of darkness where you are. Cracks begin to form all throughout the air as it trembles, almost out of fear, a groaning sensation echoing like the stomach of a hungering giant. The vapors quickly coat the shadows and land, until the mass of darkness that surrounds you breaks apart under the weight of this energy (it's Nether), rushing you in its excitement. A sinister aura looms throughout the battlefield, the skies darkening as you chant the words:
"Eternal Lord of War, I call you. Clandestine King, depraved of glory and majesty. You covered the depths of the universe in dark mists and from your construction encircled the worlds in endless shadow! Sovereign magnate, grant me absolute power. Cover me with death, GJALLARHORN OF EREBUS MEPHISTOPHELES!"
Stage 1 - Scatterer of Light
Black cracks run throughout the surface of the ground, continuing to form like veins. Their movements like shadows, writhing and pumping with life. In your hands you wield a long-sword by the name of Achlys (Death-Mist), its white blade fading in and out of reality, surrounded by a phantasmal black aura.
- Achlys (Death-Mist): The long-sword of Erebus Mephistopheles. It has the basic ability of being able to scatter energy, even light and pure energy. It's impossible to tell where the blade is with simply your senses whenever you swing it due to light scattering, making it easy for opponents to be hit from the sheer length and width of the massive blade (blade is 9ft long, 1ft wide). A corruption spreads across that which it hits, allowing for you to manipulate the mass of the part you strike. As Nether is a powerful crowd control energy, it's fitting it would possess a powerful crowd control weapon.
- Gehenna: Sápio Pedío (Wicked Purification: Rotted Field): Thrust your blade into that which you wish, such as the ground, causing a violent spread of blue blight for as long as you keep your blade in said object (even the air). The technique forces entropy upon whatever the blue matter spreads to and reduces the object(s) into blue Nether Energy. You can gather the created Nether Energy into your blade, allowing you greater range with Achlys or manipulate the Nether itself by controlling the field. If your opponent comes into contact with the blight, the flow of their energy pauses on the spot the blue mass is on. Their heart would stop if it hit their chest.
- Gehenna: Koiláda Tis Skiás (Valley of the Shadow): After charging your blade with the Nether you created through the blight, you can thrust your sword into the ground and overflow the earth with blight, creating an unstable earthquake more violent than the previous. In doing so, you'd be able to manipulate the terrain itself and summon forth beings of Nether there. This time, the blight can spread infinitely so long as there is an organic source allowing it.
- Gehenna: Asvesti Flóga (Wicked Purification: Unquenchable Flame): Charge your blade with the doom that resides within your body and light aflame the Death-Mist in accursed fire. What this means is you use the Death-Force that is within you and bring it forth to charge Achlys in purple, fiery Nether. The Death-Force does not come from the Nether you gained when summoning this Gjallarhorn, it is your very personal Death-Force; your own entropy and doom (fate) that all living beings possess. In doing so, the power drains you if you're not careful and the Nether only exists to ensure you don't die immediately. When lighting aflame Achlys in purple fire, its form is revealed and it will no longer have the impossibility of sensing it as a factor. Instead, what you appear to wield is a towering sword of purple fire that manifests your doom and lashes it upon your foes. Each strike destroys the soul and body of an opponent and turns them purely into Nether...they become a simple force. When a foe explodes into pure Nether, they let out a powerful chain reaction that affects all enemies around them and they in turn explode as well. This also works with objects (mountains, trees, boulders, ocean bodies, etc).
- Gehenna is inspired by the Hebrew term for Hell and its Christianic interpretations. Gehenna, or Hell, is a location where the soul and body are destroyed in eternal fire. The souls of the damned are sent here as their final death, ending their torment.
- There are three types of Nether based upon the concentration of Death-Force. Blue Nether has the lowest concentration, appearing as a phantasmal blue vapor, and has the basic ability is being able to drain the Aether from energies. Purple Nether has a strong concentration, appearing as wild and flowing ghostly purple flames, and has the basic ability of entropy. It destroys what it touches and turns it into Blue Nether. Black Nether has the purest and absolute concentration of Nether, appearing as an ultra-black flowing mass completely devoid of light and apparent structure. Whatever Black Nether comes across is reduced to chaos. It will no longer have form or structure and will become a force for entropy.
- What you first must know about entropy is that entropy is essentially the unused or unavailable energy everything in the universe possesses. This amount of unused energy, entropy, will increase when a system has less useful energy, kinetic energy. The more kinetic energy something has, the less entropy it has. Everything starts with entropy, then becomes kinetic energy until it reaches a state of equilibrium where both entropy and kinetic energy are balanced until eventually entropy will increase. The way this is useful in combat is by removing the actual power of a system, a system being a person, cell, energy, or technique.
Stage 2 - Gehenna: The World To Come
"'Tis thine from darksome mists to fill the sight, all-spreading veil to cast the night."
To activate this stage, you must use the Unquenchable Flame technique and drain your Death-Force. This will allow for Nether to fill your body and fill the empty spaces left from the drained Death-Force. Your image will gain a spectral, blue aura around your edges. Black cracks will rise from your sword-arm to your shoulder, the purple Nether flames rising and setting ablaze your arm. You say the chant of the Second Stage and raise your sword, shadows yawning further beyond from an unseen source. Stab your sword into the ground just as you would with the Valley of the Shadow technique to break the ground, fissures racing all across the earthen fields and releasing fumes of purple flames. The vicinity's ambient energy will immediately begin to drain rapidly and your opponent's own power will drain slow or fast depending on their level of power at the time of this activation.
This stage has the latent skill of draining more power from an opponent if they use a technique. Techniques your opponents cast will require more power to cast the closer they are to you and 10% of the power used for that technique will automatically be drained and consumed by you. Therefore, the stronger their technique is, the more power you gain from it. Meanwhile, every minute they fight you, you drain 0.5% of their energy at this stage. Meaning, in an hour, you will have drained 30% of their power. At an hour and 40 minutes, you will have drained half their power. It will take you 3 hours and 20 minutes to drain all their power with just this passive ability of them being within your presence and them doing absolutely nothing. It's important to note that the drainage only drains energy they are currently harnessing or currently capable of. If they are in a regular form that has a maximum of 100 energy and your opponent is put down to only have 10/100 of their energy because of your drainage powers, they can still draw power from something in their arsenal to return them back to 100 or maximize their potential.
For example, I'm combating you using Erebus Mephistopheles and I'm just in my regular form. It's notable that I would have access to the planes, Gjallarhorns, and a bunch of other sources of power and energy. So my potential power would be, say, 1,000. Yet in my current regular form I am only capable of 100. The drainage power will only take away up to 100 and then it will be done (because that means I'm dead). It will not take away that 1,000 Potential Power because it's not tapped into or currently being used up by me.

- Gehenna: Nekros Ouranos (Wicked Purification: Dead Sky): This is a technique that increases your drainage power up to 2% and replaces what the opponent loses with damage. Meaning, any action they do that causes them to lose energy will harm them and cause them pain. Point your sword-arm to the sky, darkening the atmosphere as the purple fire that scourged the fields dissipate to a mere flame; now radiating its amaranthine glow even more intensely than before. Nature's setting will catch flame as trees become torches and the grasslands become minefields of the purple flames. The air will bite with a bitter cold to freeze over the exposed earth and water bodies such as lakes, seas, and springs.
- Gehenna: Strató Tis Nýchtas (Wicked Purification: Army of the Night): The purple flames will rage forth once more, spilling out to summon the draugr (again-walker); undead soldiers whose eyes burn with the cold blue frost of Niflheim and whose bodies bite with its atmosphere. They are simple, yet powerful foot-soldiers that personify the spread of corruption and chaos. Their primary power is the ability to turn living beings into the undead instantly if the Blue Nether that makes up their bodies enters the opponent's body. They are immune to physical attacks (unless infused with magic) such as being hit with a sword or punch or any natural element, except fire. Should they ever be destroyed (unless by the previously aforementioned methods), they will instantly repair themselves no matter the state they were left in. Another ability they possess is being able to phase through physical objects by becoming simple astral projections, being able to make themselves invisible in the process. When they use the astral projection technique, they become extremely fast and appear from one place to another. Anything can become a draugr so long as it was once living and the Master can summon as many as they want from anywhere so long as they themselves turned them into a draugr.
- Gehenna: Aionios Ypnos (Wicked Purification: Everlasting Sleep): Grab your opponent or stab your opponent to drain their power totally. At the end, after about 10 seconds when you finish draining them, their body will catch flame and disappear.
- Kalýpto (To Silence): The flames used to summon the draugr will sweep across the land towards your blade, Achlys. Achlys will absorb all the Nether that surrounds the area that you wish, whether it be your own or another's. In doing so, the blade will grow larger and its very presence causes energy to siphon into the blade, even sound, light, and matter.
- Katharízo (Purge): Charges the purple flames in your arm into Achlys and release it as an explosion that destroys and instantly kills all nearby foes with you at the epicenter. The technique does damage you.
Stage 3 - All-Consuming Veil
"Aching and ethereal, in your silence is the beating heart of wisdom. Eminent and primal, in your kingdom is the cult of the risen. To you I deem: devoted, unwavering, and regal sovereign!"
Entering the stage has almost the exact effect as if you were using the Dead Sky technique from Stage 2, but greatly amplifies that technique. Your opponent will lose 5% of their power with every passing minute and in its place, damage will occur to their body. Not only will they be damaged, but their body will begin to resemble that of a draugr; pale, dead skin with an dark effervescent outline surrounding their image. This damage can be healed through restoration techniques or if they continue to maximize their power.
To enter this stage, consume all the draugr you summoned with your blade using Kalypto and channel them into your body. The earthen fields will freeze over as trees and shrubbery crumble, mountains trembling and collapsing. The frozen fields will reflect a clear darkness within its ice as the sky stains black with no spangled lights shining above.
Your entire body will burn in the purple flames that consumed your sword-arm, your skin turning a death-blue with Blue Nether clearly emanating from within. Your eyes will burn with the cold, purple flames and your very visage will appear like that of a flame: phantasmal, wild, and unclear. You have the exact powers of a draugr in that forcing your energy into any living being will force them into becoming a draugr, immunity to all attacks (except fire and magic), and astral projection. Your astral projection works differently though than the draugr from the 2nd Stage in that your Astral Projection is very well capable of interacting with all other planes due to the characteristics of Nether, even when your opponent cannot interact with you. In other words, you are impossible to kill by this stage if you can utilize your Astral Projections intelligently. Your opponent would have to make to tether you into the Physical Plane in order to properly do damage to you if they do not have powers that can interact with all planes at once.
The reason for all of this is your body is becoming like Nether. Your blade, Achlys, is the very scion of your Death-Force manifested as a sword. You are no longer a being of the living in this stage, but a tool for entropy and destruction; a vanquisher who rends one's enemies and leaves them hollow.
Achlys burns in your hands with excitement to signal the transition into the final stage. Hold Achlys to your face and chant the words of Stage 4.

- Gehenna: Makávrio Choró (Wicked Purification: Macabre Dance): Manipulate the Nether within your body and split it out to even more astral projections of yourself. In doing so, your real body remains tethered in the plane you are in, but the others are free to walk. You can create as many of these astral projections as you are capable of and they will perform just as you would and possess your powers.
- Gehenna: Legeóna tis Nýchtas (Wicked Purification: Legion of the Night): Like the Army of the Night technique, it summons the draugr once more. Except this time they rise directly from the frozen ground from the darkness, breaking it apart and spewing forth the black mists within. Their eyes will light aflame with the purple Nether and glow from within their body, their bodies a rotten and blighted white. These draugr are far more powerful than their previous versions for these are Blight Draugr. Instead of turning living beings into draugr, they consume these living beings for further power so long as their energy invades that living being. Physically, they are much stronger and can move with speeds seen from people who are in Stage 2 of the Physical Plane. They possess masterful manipulation of Nether and unlike you, can masterfully manipulate Black Nether in this stage. By using Black Nether, they instantly drain energies by coming into contact with it and can unravel the power of energies they are within the presence of. Blight Draugr can move in perfect silence due to how their very presence drains even sound and if they wish they could make themselves completely invisible by becoming masses of darkness by consuming the light that reflects off their bodies. This time, they are completely immune to all elements and all attacks except for magic and runes. These are the perfect soldiers.
- Archários Daímonas (Arch Demon): Stab Achlys into the icy ground and disturb the dark mists that lay within with the purple flames of your blade. The earth will crack and the ice will splinter as darksome mists will explode forth, purple columns of fire shooting up to the sky in a chorus of chilling laughter from the once silent draugr. Purple and blue lights will rage across the black sky until a seismic eruption sends a storm of purple fire into the darkened heavens, crumbling the horizon in its glow. From within the surge, a shadowy figure will loom and then roar a mighty battle-cry that splits away the surging fires and sends all flying back to vaporize in their path from the enormous speed of their jettison, draugr and foes alike (the draugr will be fine since they can instantly reform themselves). From the horizon, the huge figure will be perceived as a titanic, draconian demon made purely from the earthen metal of the underworld, purple Nether emanating from within the gaps of its scales. This is an Arch Demon, a commander of the forces of the underworld capable of empowering the soldiers and summoning more soldiers of the underworld whether it be demons or even more arch demons alike. It can condense the purple flames of Nether into a pure laser with the power of a collapsing star that travels endlessly. The draugr themselves become excited, moving wildly and their purple radiance is shown even more drastically, capable of running at opponents and exploding into a hellflame seen in the Stage 2 technique Katharízo (Purge), then reforming to repeat the process.
- Anapnoí (Breath): The Arch Demon will breathe in, draining all energies within a maximum distance of a continent.
- Apopnéo (Exhale): The Arch Demon releases all the energy he drained all at once in a powerful, seismic explosion that collapses a continent.
- Archários Daímonas (Arch Demon): Stab Achlys into the icy ground and disturb the dark mists that lay within with the purple flames of your blade. - Gehenna: All-Consuming Veil: The earth trembles and the frozen floor breaks apart completely, releasing forth the darkness that slumbered beneath the ice. The darkness spreads out, reaching towards the sky like as a black mist from which light cannot penetrate. It is impossible to see through the veil of darkness as it consumes even light and your opponent would only sense a cold, malevolent presence surrounding them constantly. The All-Consuming Veil spreads far, half of the globe completely shadowed. This technique will not last long as it prompts the transition into the final stage.
Achlys burns in your hands with excitement to signal the transition into the final stage. Hold Achlys to your face and chant the words of Stage 4.
Stage 4 - Mist of Death
"Within this veil of doom and fears, lies but the horror of the pain. True this night of gloom and tears, shall find the courage of hope wane. This night that covers me, black as the blade from foe to foe. It rends what is to be, the black blade's charity only woe. Here lies the Abyss, the Well of Sorrows, its dark-some mists to fill the sight. No cry of valor shall stand against me as I wield this deathly night, Achlys!"
Achlys will burn with black flames, at first wild and unruly, until Achlys seems to disappear within the darkness. There is complete darkness everywhere, with no visible shapes seen for leagues upon leagues. The only thing seen within this veil is your the releasing purple flames lashing from the chinks of your armored plates, your body clad in perfectly black armor that is not receptive to light. Even the draugr and the archdemon will remain unseen so long as they do not attack. They move perfectly in darkness. Your opponent will only sense the cold presence pressing down upon them and the doom it brings.
This final stage is represented by how strong your draining capabilities are now and how most of your attacks will not be telegraphed. Truly, in order for your opponent to even be able to pierce the light or discern attacks from simply the presence of the All-Consuming Veil around them will be if they have Aether, Nether, Ether, or anything such as that. With Aether, they would have to use White Aether to pierce the darkness and make out the shapes as the other lower forms (Red and Gold) will be insufficient and will be corrupted by the Black Nether. If the opponent were to use Nether, they would have to use it for sensory to discern what attacks have concentrations of power within them. So them simply having those two energies will not assure them the victory of being able to discern your attacks, they must be able to use them correctly for the moment and understand how you are achieving your attacks.
Your drainage capabilities are now at 10% each minute. Meaning, your opponent will completely be drained in 10 minutes if they are doing absolutely nothing. If they are attacking and moving, it will be less than 10 minutes. In order for your opponent to combat against you without worrying about the draining capabilities, they must continue to power up and draw power just like the other stages. Although, such an ability will not work as well as it would have in the previous stages. In the previous stages, the damage inflicted upon the opponent when they had their power drained would fade if they healed or maximized their potential. In this stage, that damage will not fade away. So they will reach a maximum point for them where the damage will kill them even if they have enough power or energy to continue dodging the draining effects. In reality, your opponent will only last a total of 30 minutes and that's just if no real combat is going on where you're not damaging your opponent...which you will be.
Achlys still remains in your hand, but this time it's completely invisible in the darkness for it is the darkness. It's completely covered in Black Nether and the Purple Nether is repressed within it, stored now for the techniques shown below. With Achlys, you can strike at anything from any range and any point so long as it is within the veil. Due to your opponent's inability to see or so much as sense it, it's basically the end for them with just combating your blade especially since Achlys is still very well capable of the techniques seen in the previous stages.

- Gehenna: Omíchli Thanátou (Wicked Purification: Mist of Death): This is the manipulation of the Black Nether, an energy that completely drains and reduces things purely to chaos. Gather the darkness around you together and concentrate it to create constructs or attacks from any range. Of course, your opponent will not be able to see any of this or comprehend what is going on without power over the primordial energies.
- Gehenna: Moros (Wicked Purification: Doom): This is a sealing technique. Plunge Achlys into your opponent to set up the technique, causing purple flames to rise from their body. In doing so, your opponent will be bound to Achlys and burn into blue vapor only to be taken in by Achlys. They manage to keep their conscious and they are not entirely reduced to chaos, but this could be considered a perfect seal in that it uses the concept of entropy in its application. The more energy they try to build while sealed, the more entropy they will create to keep them in a constant state of equilibrium within Achlys. Realistically, there is no way to escape except for perhaps clever use of destiny manipulation.
- Gehenna: Ker (Wicked Purification: Destruction): The purple flames that surround your form will blaze with greater vigor, increasing your overall power. The flames will coat Achlys once again, allowing for your opponent to be able to see Achlys' visage, but whether or not they can react to its speed and range is still to be seen. Each strike you make towards an opponent is like destruction itself as breaking through body would be as easy as cleaving a mountain and this does increase your one-shot capability. If you hit them and they repair themselves, that means they halved the time until their power is completely drained and they die due to the strain of regeneration.
- Gehenna: Hypnos (Wicked Purification: Sleep): Raise Achlys to the sky with both your hands and the purple flames that lash from your body will begin to fade into dying embers as the draugr at your disposal give their macabre laugh. The light will entirely fade with your opponent being plunged completely in darkness with no sight to be seen from anywhere. The drain effects will double while this technique is active and all it takes for them to stop the technique is to strike you as within the darkness you'll still have Achlys raised to the sky, but whether or not they can get past the draugr and the other minions of the night you have is to be seen. While in this technique, you cannot personally attack the opponent through the focus of the draining power. Even if your opponent can see you or sense you through the darkness, the drain effects will still be doubled so long as they are within your presence.
- Gehenna: Anaplekte (Wicked Purification: Painful Death): A technique that alters the drainage power that is occurring to the opponent to a damage power that constantly damages your opponent. They will experience great pain continuously throughout the fight until they can no longer feel anything and no longer possess the ability to harness energy.
- Gehenna: Stygere (Wicked Purification: Hateful): This is a reality sundering technique and the most powerful technique at your disposal, although not as powerful as Ragnarok's Total Event Collapse. Stab Achlys into the ground and tremors will begin to break apart the planet or object you're standing on. The atmosphere will collapse itself, lightning bolts cracking the broken sky as everything around you is razed into the underworld. That is where everything is collapsing to: the Nether Realm. If your opponent manages to survive the reality sundering, they will be dragged to the Nether Realm along with you where they will experience almost immediate drainage of their abilities and energy due to the atmosphere of the Nether Realm. There you will be at your most powerful as well.
